Suzuka
Suzuka is a sofa with a bold personality, destined to take centre stage in any living room.
Suzuka is a Japanese city located in the Mie County, near the famous car and motorcycle circuit. Inspiration from the world of racing, where everything is movement, technology and design, led to the production of Chateau d’Ax’s now best-selling model. An original sofa aimed to play a leading role in every living room. Essentiality and lightness harmonize perfectly with the tapered lines of the Suzuka sofa. The manually adjustable armrests and the back cushions which, with independent manual mechanisms, reduce or increase the seat depth, allow the customization of the comfort level. Each of the seats thus competes with the comfort of the chaise lounge, available among the possible configurations. Suzuka is also attractive in terms of aesthetics thanks to the possibility of free combinations of leather and fabric: the first on the profile under the seat, integrated lumbar cushion and outside back cushions, the second for the seat, armrest and back cushions, upholstery also possible in two-tone combinations. Silvain Joly, who graduated from the French Art High School, established himself on the international stage of design as early as 1970, creating the famous Swany sofa for Steiner. After a decade at GMC, as artistic director, he founded Silvain Joly Design which soon began collaborating with Roche Bobois, a brand for which he designed models from 1996 to 2007. The ability to combine innovative design to the market is what characterizes it and makes it appreciated by the most well-known brands. In 2007 Joly won the well-known French “Designer of the Year” award.
